KUALA LUMPUR – Bursa Malaysia retreated slightly from last week’s gains to open mixed today, in line with the sentiment in the regional market, as investors remain cautious over the first United States Federal Reserve meeting under the Joe Biden administration later today.
At 9.20am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 0.06 of a point to 1,596.80 from 1,596.74 at last week’s close.
The index opened 3.80 points higher at 1,600.54.
On the broader market, losers pipped gainers 617 to 183, while 289 counters were unchanged, 1,209 untraded and 20 suspended.
Total volume stood at 904.8 million units worth RM590.42 million. – Bernama, January 25, 2021
