SEREMBAN – Applications for the Negri Sembilan Entrepreneur Development Fund (TUNS) Plus scheme for micro entrepreneurs in the state will be reopened from June 25 to July 25.
State Investment, Industry, Entrepreneurship, Education and Human Capital Committee chairman Datuk Mohamad Rafie Ab Malek in a statement today said the RM3 million scheme will benefit 200 micro entrepreneurs.
“TUNS Plus is an initiative introduced this year. It involves interest-free, soft-loan financing assistance amounting to RM15,000 per person, and can be applied for via its website.
“TUNS Plus has received 267 applications, but 190 had to be rejected because they did not meet the criteria, such as not being locals. We need more entrepreneurs to benefit from this scheme.”
He said micro entrepreneurs, including those who previously received TUNS funding, can also apply for interest-free soft loans under the scheme.
The TUNS initiative, which is a grant fund assistance totalling RM3 million, and TUNS Plus aim to help micro entrepreneurs develop their businesses.
Rafie said the initiative was first introduced in 2019, with RM15 million allocated to date, benefiting 4,269 micro entrepreneurs in the state. – Bernama, June 20, 2021
