KUALA LUMPUR – Awesome Media Network Sdn Bhd (Awesome TV) announced two new appointments to its senior leadership lineup as part of the company’s new strategic direction.

In a statement today, the network announced Mazlan Mahdi as chief operating officer in charge of the company’s internal operations, particularly on technology infrastructure development, regulatory issues as well as stakeholder relations, among other responsibilities.

Mazlan possesses 20 years of experience in the field of broadcasting, especially with digital TV infrastructure operations.

He has helped to execute high-impact projects, including developing infrastructure for MYTV and Astro and was even involved in developing the country’s technical code through Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd.

Meanwhile, Datuk Yushaimi Maulud Yahaya was appointed as chief editor for the network’s 757 news segment.

Yushaimi has over 30 years of experience in the national media industry, especially in the field of journalism.

He has previously served several senior editorial roles, including as New Straits Times Press (NSTP) chief operating officer after helming editorial operations at Harian Metro, Berita Harian and the News Straits Times as NSTP’s former editor-in-chief.

Yushaimi was also the former editor-in-chief of The Malay Mail and media advisor to the Redberry Group.

The appointments of both individuals took effect from July 1 and they are presently reporting to Awesome TV chief executive officer Datuk Adam Ilyas. – The Vibes, July 6, 2022
