‘MISS Match’, the first WeTV Malaysia Original of 2021, starring Kilafairy and Mimi Lana was released yesterday. The four-part mini-series tells the tale of a love triangle between two adversaries, who have been at each other’s throats since high school.

The series comprises four drama-filled episodes, perfect for a weekend TV series binge. The following episodes are to be released today, March 4 and 5, respectively.

The four-episode series is set to spark fireworks and a roller-coaster of emotions for Malaysian drama lovers. Produced by Imaginal Pictures and directed by up-and-coming Malaysian director, Tam Suhaimi, 'Miss Match' starred Kilafairy, Bella Dally, Mimi Lana and Atiq Azman.

It will be a WeTV exclusive, free for anyone to watch on-demand on either their mobile devices through the WeTV smartphone application or the website at https://wetv.vip/en.

“Here at WeTV, we have always had the vision to provide high-quality movies and shows to our local viewers. And as an industry leader in the local entertainment scene, we feel that it is our responsibility to provide opportunities for our homegrown, rising actors and actresses to showcase their talent,” said Aik Kuang Heng, country manager of WeTV Malaysia.

“Merging these aspects together, 'Miss Match' is one of many WeTV Originals due to be released this year. We understand how seriously Malaysians take their TV time, whether it be binge-watching on the couch with their families, friends or even alone while enjoying a cup of instant noodles, and we are here to entertain them.”

‘Miss Match’ centred around Melissa, a talk show host for a programme called ‘Berdua Bersatu’, who plays cupid and helps individuals find their life partners. Ironically for Melissa, she was happily single at the time. But all this changed when Melissa was invited as a committee member for her high school reunion, potentially facing her long-time adversary, Adrea.

Now ready to find a significant other, Melissa was set-up by her two friends which brought Harris into her life. Little did she know that Harris was actually Adrea’s ex-boyfriend, setting the tone for a face-off.

Kilafairy, who plays Melissa in the series, is excited to see the tale unfold.

She said: “Miss Match tells the tale of how past experiences can continue to haunt a person and explores the complex intricacies behind social dynamics. Despite growing into a successful woman and host of a famous local talk show, the protagonist, Melissa still seeks validation. Adrea turned highschool into a difficult experience for her, and the invitation to the reunion just sparked a fire in her. I won’t reveal too much but It was a real treat to play Melissa and showcase the many facets of her character and personality."
