MALAYSIAN supernatural film ‘Roh’ produced by Kuman Pictures was recently submitted as the official picture to represent Malaysia in the International Feature Film Category for the upcoming 93rd Academy Awards. 

Kuman Pictures in its official Instagram page shared the excitement as: “A way to promote Malaysian talents internationally.” 

The announcement made by The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) yesterday went through detailed evaluation based on direction, storyline, cinematography, acting and the music score set by the awards committee. 

Fans have since followed up with retweets of approval sharing messages of support for the selection made by Finas. 

Written and directed by Emir Ezwan, the Malay-language indie arthouse horror film details the story set in the past of an young girl that brings frightening predictions and unwelcoming incidents to a family living in a forest. 

The film had its international premier at the Singapore Film Festival back in November last year.  – The Vibes, November 5, 2020
