SINGER Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, started 2022 with his latest offering titled 'Dawn FM'.

The Weekend announced the launch of its album late in an introductory video shared on his official social media account.

The album will feature many big names in the entertainment and music industry such as Lil Wayne, Tyler The Creator, Quincy Jones, Oneohtrix Point Never and actor Jim Carrey.

Jim Carrey’s voice graced one of the introductory videos with the opening utterance, “You are now listening to 103.5, Dawn FM. You’ve been in the dark for way too long. It’s time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms.”

Many may ask why The Weeknd chose Jim Carrey to collaborate with when he is not a musician.

Carrey's appearance on this album is not surprising. The two celebrities have been friends for many years and were said to be close.

According to Jim Carrey’s recent Twitter post, Dawn FM is a deep and elegant album.

"I listened to Dawn FM's album with Abel last night. The album is so deep and elegant that it makes me dance around the room. I am very excited to be a part of Abel's music project," he said.

'Dawn FM' is The Weeknd’s fifth studio album and is an extension of his hit album titled 'After Hours'.

The Weekend staked the single ‘Take My Breath’ in August last year as the album’s first song. He followed it up with his collaboration with the Swedish House Mafia on the single ‘Moth To A Flame’.

What is interesting about this album is the speculation of a romantic relationship between The Weeknd and renowned actress Angelina Jolie. Their relationship became more heated after the songs in the album were revealed to the public.

After dissecting the lyrics of his songs, many fans believed that most of the songs are closely related to the couple.

This is not the case in 2016, the singer once used Jolie's name in the lyrics of the song 'Party Monster'.

Not only that, netizens assumed that the lyrics of the single ‘Here We Go… Again’ referred to Jolie.

It portrays Jolie, a famous Hollywood actress who has starred in many movies. Add to that the lyrics of the song ‘Starry Eyes’ which describes Jolie with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

The Weeknd and Jolie drew public attention when they were seen going out together in June last year.
