DATUK Sheila Majid has come out with a new song as a token of appreciation towards the fighting spirit of frontliners during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The song, titled Wira Hatiku, will also be part of the soundtrack for the movie Juang, a collaboration between five famous directors including Matt Lai, Datuk Rosyam Nor and Jack Lim.

"I've always wanted to do something for the frontliners, something that means a lot to them.

"So being involved in this project and singing Wira Hatiku is a big honour for every sacrifice they made to all of us," said Sheila Majid in a press release.

Wira Hatiku is supported by a team of professional musicians who did not want to miss the chance of joining this historic project.

The musicians from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) give a stirring performance enhanced by Mac Chew's musical arrangement.

Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra's head of talent development, Ahmad Muriz Che Rose is excited and honoured to be involved in what he describes as an epic project.

"The opportunity given by the production side for this collaboration with Datuk Sheila Majid and this epic work as a tribute to our frontliners is a good collaboration and we really appreciate it," he said.

Wira Hatiku, produced by Cheng Lee and Elaine Soong, was then recorded in its orchestral form by Peter Chong with the help of Hep Kim Fai and Chong Soon Jet.

Recording and mixing was also done by Peter Chong and mastered by Cheng Lee @ Prodigee Studio.

The music video of Wira Hatiku was recorded in the Philharmonic Hall, embroidered with soul-stirring scenes, enough to evoke a sense of patriotism for the audience to remember the not easy life lived during the pandemic without the help and support of the frontliners.

The film Juang, which is filled with actors such as Zizan Razak, Janna Nick, Izzue Islam, Sangeeta and Zul Ariffin, is expected to reach audiences on September 8. – The Vibes, July 29, 2022
