Featuring Ji Changwook and ‘Squid Game’ star Wi Hajoon, production is slated to begin later this year

KUALA LUMPUR – When an investigation into a notorious international drug ring hits a brick wall, one police officer will risk it all to expose a web of underground crime in The Worst of Evil (working title), an Original coming exclusively to Disney+ Hotstar in 2023.

Set in 1980s Korea, The Worst of Evil will follow an investigative taskforce as their undercover officer, Kang Joonmo, infiltrates a new criminal organization responsible for fueling the Korea, China, Japan drug trafficking triangle.

This upcoming crime-action series will debut exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar in 2023.

Starring Ji Changwook (Backstreet Rookie, Suspicious Partner, Empress Ki) as police officer Kang Joonmo, Wi Hajoon (Squid Game, 18 Again, Little Women) as Jung Kicheol, the leader of the new criminal enterprise, and Lim Semi (My Secret Terrius, Shopping King Louis) as Yoo Euijung, a narcotics officer, The Worst of Evil will be directed by Han Dongwook (Man in Love).

The latest Korean title to be announced as part of the company’s ambitious goal to greenlight over 50 Apac Originals by 2023, The Worst of Evil will join the library of endless entertainment currently available on Disney+ Hotstar.

They include other Korean titles such as Big Mouth about an inept lawyer who is falsely imprisoned and accused of being the country’s most notorious conman; Soundtrack #1, about unrequited love between two close friends, and many more.
