KUALA LUMPUR – India’s dance king Prabhu Deva is expected to hit Malaysia with a mega dance concert on September 9.

In a statement, organiser DMY Creation announced that the highly anticipated show, titled “Prabu Dheva’s The Next Step,” is set to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Stadium in Cheras.

“Through this concert, local dancers will be given a dream opportunity to perform with Prabhu Deva live on stage,” said DMY Creation founder and chairman Datuk Mohamed Yusoff.

“The goal of DMY Creation is to inspire as many youths as we can in Malaysia who have a passion for this form of art.

“Dance is something that transmits through culture, and emotions, tells stories and can be a testimony of a historical moment, just through movement, it becomes a medium for sensing, understanding, and communicating ideas, feelings, and experiences,” he said.

Deva’s name in the entertainment industry stands synonymous with dance.

Many well-known dancers and choreographers in India have come out to say how the dance king has played an influential role in their careers.

The dancer-turned-actor will be performing with a host of celebrities including dancers and actors from the Tamil movie industry.

DMY Creation is also set to give local dancers a chance to perform with the dance king and be recognised by creating an online contest where dance enthusiasts who wish to grab the lifetime chance of performing with Deva need to upload a 1-minute solo or group performance dance video on social media.

DMY Creation said the winning contestants will be announced soon as the list is finalised by Deva’s team.

The winners chosen by his team will also get to meet and perform with the artist himself.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale starting June 30, and early bird prices will range from RM88 to RM388 in three main categories.

Tickets are expected to sell fast, and fans are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.
