A SCHOOL in Johor is set for a major facilities upgrade after receiving RM100,000 under the MADANI Adopted School Programme, strengthening its digital learning, STEM and TVET capabilities while improving the overall school environment.
The allocation for Sekolah Kebangsaan Murni Jaya was presented during the National Month Programme and MADANI Adopted School mock cheque presentation at the school in Layang-Layang, Kulai, on Friday.
Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said the initiative forms part of the MADANI Government's Whole-of-Government approach to improving public service delivery through closer cooperation between ministries, agencies, schools and local communities.
The said the programme, inspired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was introduced as a high-impact initiative to strengthen the education ecosystem through a more comprehensive and collaborative approach.
SK Murni Jaya was selected as the Communications Ministry's MADANI adopted school for 2026 based on its needs and potential, reflecting the Government's commitment to ensuring educational development reaches schools in an inclusive and comprehensive manner.
The RM100,000 allocation, channelled through the Finance Ministry in accordance with the programme's spending guidelines, will finance a range of improvements.
These include four school signboards, two Smartboards for the school hall and resource centre, upgraded lighting and beautification works, a public address system for the hall and two air-conditioning units.
The funding will also provide 10 iPads for teaching and learning activities in the computer laboratory, a Sumo Robot set for STEM and TVET activities, equipment for co-curricular activities, improvements to the pre-school garden and two Smart TVs for Special Education Integrated Programme (PPKI) classrooms.
Teo said the investment went beyond physical improvements, describing the allocation as a long-term investment in human capital.
Better facilities, she said, would create a more conducive learning environment, stimulate pupils' creativity and support teachers in delivering higher-quality teaching and learning.
As Member of Parliament for Kulai, Teo also highlighted the continued assistance provided by his parliamentary office to SK Murni Jaya since 2022.
Between 2022 and 2025, the office contributed various forms of assistance aimed at improving school facilities and supporting the welfare of pupils and staff.
In 2022, the school received nine Smart TVs and a projector, followed by upgrades to its pre-school in 2023.
In 2024, the parliamentary office provided 80 sets of pupils' tables and chairs, as well as support for the school's Academic Excellence Awards ceremony.
In 2025, funding was provided for infrastructure and beautification works, alongside special assistance for the annual sports competition and Children's Day celebrations.
For 2026, a further RM20,000 was allocated to provide 19 tables and chairs for the school canteen.
The cumulative contributions from the Kulai parliamentary office to SK Murni Jaya since 2022 have now exceeded RM100,000.
The Deputy Communications Minister added the continued assistance reflected a shared responsibility to ensure pupils had a safe, comfortable and conducive environment in which to learn and develop.
He urged the school to maximise the use of the new facilities, saying they would provide pupils with greater opportunities to develop their talents and gain more meaningful educational experiences.
He said the Government's aim was to nurture a generation that excelled academically while possessing strong character, creativity and competitiveness, with the confidence to explore fields such as STEM and TVET.
He also pledged to continue supporting schools across the Kulai parliamentary constituency within the resources and opportunities available.
He said closer cooperation between the Government, schools, parent-teacher associations, communities and society was essential to building a stronger and more inclusive education ecosystem.
As Malaysia prepares to celebrate National Day, she also called for the National Month celebrations to be used to strengthen patriotism and foster a deeper sense of love for the country among young Malaysians.
He expressed hope that the assistance would benefit the school's 189 pupils and encourage more children in Johor, particularly in Kulai, to excel and bring pride to their families, school, state and country. - August 14, 2026
