THE much-anticipated concert by Malaysian girl group Dolla, Good Girls Gone Bad Live in Concert, originally set for 6 December at Idea Live in Petaling Jaya, has been officially cancelled.
In a joint statement shared on Instagram, SAH Entertainment and Universal Music Malaysia described the decision as difficult but necessary to ensure the safety of performers, crew, venue staff and fans.
“After reviewing all aspects of the event, including safety, technical requirements, approvals, and operational planning, we realised that final preparations could not be completed according to schedule,” the statement read.
“Proceeding could have posed risks such as last-minute disruptions, potentially disappointing ticket holders. Our priority is the safety of the artists, crew, venue teams, and most importantly, the fans. We do not want to deliver anything less than the highest standard of Dolla’s performance.”
Sufi Rashid, Director of SAH Entertainment, said the decision followed careful deliberation and a comprehensive risk assessment of all critical aspects of the concert.
“We are committed to staging performances that meet the highest standards in terms of safety, quality, and audience experience. After thorough consideration, we concluded that proceeding could compromise the event’s quality. Consequently, all refunds will be processed promptly.”
Ticket holders are guaranteed full refunds, which will be issued automatically via the original payment method, requiring no action on their part. Refunds are expected to be credited within three to four weeks, depending on banks or card providers.
The organisers expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support and pledged to return with a stronger performance in the future.
Dolla member Tabby also addressed fans, posting a message on social media: “We love our iDollas. Please believe that we are trying our best to give you the very best, despite challenges like this. There are no words to express our gratitude for your support through both good times and setbacks.”
The group, which also includes Sabronzo and Angel, recently faced public scrutiny over their music video for the single Question, which drew criticism for content deemed provocative by local audiences.
The controversy prompted commentary from Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, and celebrity preacher A’sma Harun.
