Blackmores showcases AI-led integrative healthcare at upcoming MMA congress
“The future of integrative care lies in the intersection of rigorous science and innovation,” Prof Braun says - August 21, 2025

BLACKMORES, a leading name in Malaysia’s vitamins and dietary supplements (VDS) sector, is deepening its commitment to evidence-based natural health through strategic medical partnerships and advancements in artificial intelligence.

The brand will take centre stage at the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Congress 2025, held from 20 to 22 June at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur, where it will highlight its integrative approach to healthcare.

A key feature of Blackmores’ participation is a scientific symposium on 21 June 2025, from 9.00am to 9.45am, titled “The Therapeutic Role of Complementary Medicine and the Critical Importance of Understanding Drug-Nutrient Interactions in Medical Practice.”

The session will be led by Professor Lesley Braun, a globally recognised authority in integrative medicine. Prof Braun, an adjunct professor and award-winning author, previously served as Global Director of the Blackmores Institute and has advised the Australian government on health policy.

Founded in the 1930s by natural medicine pioneer Maurice Blackmore, the company continues to uphold its legacy through the Blackmores Institute, established in 2012 as its academic and clinical research arm.

“The future of integrative care lies in the intersection of rigorous science and innovation,” Prof Braun has said in previous forums, as Blackmores increasingly adopts digital tools — including AI — to support clinical decisions and understand drug-nutrient interactions.

The company’s efforts are supported by shifting attitudes in medical practice. According to recent findings from Docquity, 62 per cent of Malaysian general practitioners now recommend supplements to their patients, signalling a growing acceptance of complementary therapies.

Blackmores’ continued leadership in natural medicine reflects its ongoing investment in practitioner education, research, and technologies that bridge conventional and complementary care.  August 21, 2025
