SEVERAL social media users have begun to question the prices of food at this year's Ramadan bazaars, which they claim are getting higher and more unreasonable.

According to a post on the X page @MalaysianFoods, there are traders who are allegedly pricing ayam golek at up to RM60 per piece, reported Kosmo!

The same post also shared some of the latest food prices sold at Ramadan bazaars.

"This is why we don't need to go to the bazaar. Curry puffs are priced at RM10, murtabak at RM10 a piece, chicken john roti at RM20, while meat is RM25, and water in small cups is RM8, and large cups are RM15," it said.

In this regard, the public also expressed disappointment due to the sudden price increase imposed by a few traders.

"There is no doubt that the prices at the Ramadan bazaar are high and not reasonable; in fact, some are cheating. It is better to cook at home and eat according to the rate," said Hassan.

"I'm not wrong, last year murtabak was RM5 a piece, right? It has increased to RM10," asked Iceb.

"It really is 'choking'. It is better to go to a restaurant to eat to break the fast," said Hafiz. – February 21, 2026
