PRINTING, packaging, labelling and signage industry players from Malaysia and overseas have gathered in Kuala Lumpur for the 16th International Printing, Paper, Packaging Machinery Exhibition (IPMEX Malaysia 2026).
The four-day event, which opened today at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), runs until Aug 15.
It features 214 exhibitors, including 124 Malaysian companies and 90 international exhibitors from China, Italy, South Korea, Singapore and the United States.
The exhibition was opened by Ayer Hitam MP and Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
According to organiser Kaizer Exhibitions & Conferences Sdn Bhd, the exhibition covers 12,530 sq m and is expected to attract about 13,389 trade visitors over the four days.
The event brings together companies involved in commercial printing, packaging, labels, signage and textile printing, with equipment and technologies covering different stages of production.
Among the products on display are digital and variable-data printing systems, packaging and labelling equipment, UV-LED printers, automated inspection systems and direct-to-garment and direct-to-film printing technology.
Several established brands, including Epson, HP, Mimaki, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Kodak and Mutoh, are taking part, alongside Malaysian manufacturer STH Wire.
Wee said the industry needed to keep pace with automation and other technological changes while ensuring workers were equipped with the skills needed to operate new systems.
He also highlighted the need for small and medium enterprises to gain access to practical technology, particularly as businesses face pressure to improve productivity and meet international standards.
IPMEX is being held alongside the Sign Malaysia Exhibition, which focuses on LED and digital signage.
The exhibition also features dedicated areas for label and flexible packaging and textile printing.
Business-matching sessions, live demonstrations and networking activities are being held throughout the four-day event.
IPMEX Malaysia 2026 is endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), supported by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and 15 industry associations.
