Angelina Jolie abuse claims against Brad Pitt from 2016 have come to light

BACK in 2016, an anonymous lawsuit was issued where the plaintiff alleged being assaulted by her “then-husband” on a private plane. The couple at the centre of this altercation have now been identified as celebrity couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, shortly before their divorce.

A new report says that around that time, Jolie told an FBI agent that Pitt “physically and verbally assaulted” her and their children when they were aboard a plane. 

Pitt allegedly took his wife to the back of the plane, grabbed her by the shoulders and shouted things like, “You’re f***ing up this family.”

Jolie alleged that another physical altercation occurred on the same flight caused her to sustain injuries, including on her elbow. She adds that Pitt was drinking at the time, and had poured beer on her. 

Pitt’s representatives have denied all accusations.

In 2016, Pitt was reportedly under investigation for child abuse by the FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services after an incident on a private plane. 

Pitt allegedly got physical with his son, Maddox, after the then-15-year-old got involved in a fight between Pitt and Jolie.

Pitt’s team denied that he hurt his son, issuing this statement to People: “He is emphatic that it did not reach the level of physical abuse, that no one was physically harmed. He did not hit his child in the face in any way. He did not do that; he is emphatic about that. He put his hands on him, yes, because the confrontation was spiralling out of control.”

Soon after the 2016 incident on the plane, the Hollywood power couple called it quits, and Pitt publicly gave up drinking. No charges have been filed against him.

Since then, Pitt won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, where curiously his character was also accused of being violent with his ex-wife. 

Pitt is currently promoting action film Bullet Train, which has been the top grossing movie the last two weeks in the US. Jolie was recently seen in Marvel movie The Eternals, in addition to her extensive foundation work. – The Vibes, August 18, 2022
