Amir Hamzah Azizan swears in as senator

AMID speculation that Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan will be made the second finance minister, the Employees Provident Fund CEO was sworn in as senator before the Dewan Negara today.

Amir, who joined the EPF in March 2021, took his oath of office before Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar this morning.

Amir is also a former CEO of Tenaga Nasional Bhd CEO, MISC Bhd, and Petronas Dagangan Bhd.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he would be announcing a cabinet reshuffle today.

It was reported that several new ministers were allegedly informed of a rehearsal in Istana Negara.

This comes a year after the unity government was formed the leadership of Anwar. – The Vibes, December 12, 2023
