3 senior cops detained over alleged graft

BUKIT Aman has arrested three senior police officers in the Commercial Crime Investigation Department to assist in a probe into a RM1.25 million extortion case.

Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said the officers hold the rank of assistant commissioner, deputy superintendent, and inspector. They are between the ages of 38 and 50.

Razarudin said all three suspects denied being involved in the case.

A police report against the trio was lodged yesterday at 9.20am.

Police expect to obtain a remand order for the three today.

Razarudin said a thorough investigation would be conducted.

"We are actively collecting information and sufficient evidence to ensure that all those involved are brought to justice," he said in a statement. – May 4, 2024.
