THE sale of electronic cigarettes will be regulated under the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024, to be enforced this month, Bernama reports.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the sale of electronic cigarettes were currently governed by the the Food Act and Control of Tobacco Product Regulations.

“Regarding the proposal to ban vaping, laws and regulations can be reviewed and amended if necessary for public health reasons,” he said yesterday in Port Dickson.

He added that the supervisory regulations under the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024 would be enforced first, making smoking products, including vape, heavily regulated.

He said other proposals would be considered and discussed in a mature and democratic manner. – June 9, 2024.
