SABAH deputy chief minister Datuk Shahelmy Yahya claimed the #KamiMahuAir Sabah rally could be politically motivated.
He said the group was only using the water issue to push for their political agenda.
"From the words the group is saying they sounded political.
"They are only using the water issue to organise this demonstration," he told reporters during the rally at Menara Kinabalu, today.
Around 80 protestors staged a sit-in at the Menara Kinabalu after their requests to hand over a memorandum on the water issues to Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor was not met.
Hajiji was not in the office when the rally took place. He had also appointed Shahelmy to represent him to accept the memorandum.
