PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will announce good news about essential food items tomorrow.

"The announcement is the result of good cooperation and understanding between the government and the commercial sector to assist the people," Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, who is the government spokesman, said.

"The prime minister's announcement tomorrow concerns staple food items that we consume daily; there is good news," he said at the launch of Mydin Mart Pantai Dalam in Kuala Lumpur today.

On whether the announcement pertains to rice, Fahmi said all will be revealed tomorrow..

Mydin managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin and Fahmi, who is the Lembah Permai MP, later distributed food baskets to 50 poor families in the parliamentary seat. – June 15, 2024.
