A 25-YEAR-OLD woman who was allegedly assaulted by her actor boyfriend earlier this month has withdrawn a police report on the incident according to the New Straits Times.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Shahrulnizam Jaafar told the paper the report was withdrawn last week.

However, the investigation paper on the case has been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP).

"We are awaiting further instructions," he was quoted telling the NST.

Shahrulnizam said it was up to the DPP on what the next course of action would be now that the report was withdrawn.

On July 7, a woman claimed she was assaulted by her actor boyfriend, 37, in Ara Damansara at 3am after a misunderstanding.

The victim was allegedly punched in the face and body.

On July 10, the suspect had his statement recorded. He was not detained.

The police also recorded statements from the victim and her sister.

The case is being probed under the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt. – July 20, 2024.
