A SHANGHAI-bound Malaysia Airlines flight was forced to turn back to KLIA Terminal 1 shortly after taking off on Tuesday night. 

FlightRadar showed that the plane, an Airbus A330-300, declared a general emergency soon after take-off. 

The flight used the 7700 code and began descending to 10,000 feet, indicating a possible cabin pressure problem. 

It landed safely at KLIA after 70 minutes in the air. 

Malaysia Airlines is expected to issue a statement on the incident. – August 22, 2024.
