Pearly-Thinaah crush world no. 3 to win Hong Kong Open

PEARLY Tan and M. Thinaah were in spectacular form as they triumphed over world number three Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning to claim the Hong Kong Open women’s doubles title today.

The world number eight Malaysian pair dominated the Chinese duo, winning 21-14, 21-14 in a one-sided contest that lasted just 37 minutes.

This victory makes them the first Malaysian pair to win the women’s doubles title at the Hong Kong Open.

It also marks their first World Tour title since their triumph at the 2022 French Open. Pearly and Thinaah now boast three World Tour titles, adding to their 2021 Swiss Open victory. – September 15, 2024.
