THERE is no specific deadline for B2 and B1 licence holders to convert their licences to Class B, said the Road Transport Department.
In a statement, its director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said there was no rush and driving institutes have been informed to accept all applications from candidates.
"Selected driving institutes have been experiencing a high number of registrations for the special transition programme from Class B2 and B1 to Class B.
"Eligible Class B2 and B1 licence holders are advised not to rush when registering for this programme, as it does not have a specific expiry date or time limit," he said.
He said the list of driving institutes would be updated from time to time to handle the increased registrations.
On another matter, he said the programme experienced a system glitch in its eligibility status check and that immediate corrective actions and improvements have been implemented.
"Class B2 and B1 licence holders, who previously received the 'Non-Malaysian Citizens are Not Eligible' message are advised to log out and log back into the MyJPJ application to recheck their eligibility status under the 'Eligibility Check'," he said.
He added that the department welcomed feedback from the public on the programme's implementation and was dedicated to making ongoing improvements to deliver the best service possible.- October 5, 2024
