THE Employees Provident Fund (EPF) board today announced a dividend rate of 6.30 per cent for both Simpanan Konvensional and Simpanan Shariah, involving payouts of RM63.05 billion and RM10.19 billion, respectively.
Chief executive officer Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn said: “This brings the total payout amount for 2024 to RM73.24 billion.
“For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2024 (FY2024), the EPF recorded gross investment income of RM74.46 billion, up 11 per cent from RM66.99 billion in 2023.
“This amount is net of listed equity write downs recorded for the year,” he said during the EPF’s 2024 dividend briefing in Kuala Lumpur today.
The declared dividend for conventional savings was the highest since 2017 when it declared a rate of 6.9%.
In respect of shariah savings, the dividend rate in 2017 was at 6.4%.
The dividend rates were an increase from the dividend rates of 5.5% declared for conventional savings and 5.4% for shariah savings in FY2023.
The FY2024 dividends beat market forecasts for the rates to come in at 5.8% to 6.2% for conventional savings, and between 5.4% and 5.6% for shariah savings, on strong investment performance. – March 1, 2025
