DATUK Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasised the need for closer collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and industry stakeholders.

He aims to ensure that Malaysia’s defence research and development keeps up with technological advancements.

The Prime Minister shared this message during a meeting with top officials from Mindef and the Malaysian Armed Forces at the Subang Air Base today.

In a Facebook post, Anwar mentioned that he received updates on the country’s defence readiness during the session.

He stated, “Leadership and management must focus on key areas, including the status of defence assets, training, welfare, and cooperation among all parties. It is also important to identify issues that need comprehensive solutions.”

After the meeting, the prime minister spoke with pilots participating in events such as the National Day celebrations and the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA).

He praised their skills and confidence in operating advanced aircraft, highlighting the local talent's ability to maintain national defence readiness.

Anwar also met with officials from the Ministry for further discussions.

He performed Friday prayers with them at Masjid Al-Muhajirin, located near the airbase and distributed bubur lambuk to congregants after the Friday prayers. - March 14, 2025
