PDRM remains steadfast in the face of evolution for national security

AS the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) celebrates its 218th anniversary today, the force is committed to stand firm in its commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and security of the nation, as well as maintaining public order, despite the evolving challenges it faces.

In a statement released on PDRM's official social media, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, the Inspector-General of Police, reiterated the force’s unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety and stability of the country, despite global and local challenges.

He emphasised that PDRM remains focused on enhancing its professionalism and strengthening collaboration with the community and other agencies to ensure effective law enforcement.

“Adhering to the principle of 'striving for excellence,' PDRM plays a crucial role in maintaining social stability and harmony, thus contributing to Malaysia’s economic development,” said Razarudin.

He added. the oath taken by each PDRM officer is not merely a promise, but a significant responsibility to uphold loyalty to the King, the nation, and the government in power.

“Integrity and a high level of commitment form the foundation of maintaining public trust in the police force,” he added, marking the 218th Police Day celebration.

In line with the principles of Malaysia Madani’s Policy Sustainability, Razarudin highlighted that the theme for this year, "The Police and the Community Are Inseparable," continues to serve as a cornerstone in strengthening the relationship between PDRM and the public.

He also pointed to the importance of the "Associated & Integrated" (A.I) strategy in broadening collaborations, not just within government agencies but also with the private sector, as well as local and international industry players.

“Moving forward, PDRM will continue to embed the values of 'Friendly, Just, Noble, Trustworthy, Confident, Loyal, Reformist, and Wise' (M.A.L.A.Y.S.I.A.) into its culture, in line with the government’s aspirations for Civil Service Reform,” Razarudin said.

The Inspector-General of Police expressed his gratitude to the government, security forces, media partners, and the people of Malaysia for their continued support and trust in PDRM.

“To all members of the Blue Force, let us unite in our determination to improve service delivery, strengthen and instil high integrity values, and appreciate the blessings bestowed upon us with humility and compassion for the greater good of our religion, nation, and people,” he said.

He also urged the police force to continue enhancing public trust and strive for international recognition as a leading force for the people.

Razarudin concluded by stating that this year's 218th Police Day celebration is not just a commemoration of the sacrifices and contributions of PDRM officers, but also a symbol of the force’s ongoing commitment to ensuring Malaysia remains a safe, secure, and sovereign nation. - March 25, 2025
