KPDN Ops Pantau 2025: 369 cases recorded, out of 64,000 premises inspected

A TOTAL of 64,404 premises were inspected nationwide under Ops Pantau 2025 and out of this, 369 cases were recorded from March 2 to March 26, 2025.

The state of Johor saw the highest number of cases, with 62, followed by Selangor with 49 cases and Perak with 48 cases.

OPS Pantau 2025 is being carried out uniformly and comprehensively across the country, with a particular focus on locations such as Ramadan bazaars, Aidilfitri bazaars, public markets, wet markets, supermarkets, hypermarkets, mini markets, and retail shops.

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) launched Ops Pantau 2025 on March 2, 2025, aiming to ensure compliance with regulations enforced by the Ministry throughout the month of Ramadan and in the lead-up to the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

During the 25 days of OPS PANTAU 2025, a total of 348 fines were issued, with seized goods amounting to RM42,878.52.

The inspections under the operations concentrate on several key areas, including the monitoring of supply and prices of goods, discounted sales, use of weighing instruments, sale of counterfeit or pirated goods, halal labelling, and the sale of essential items in preparation for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

KPDN Director-General of Enforcement Datuk Azman Adam said: “The recorded cases are in violation of various laws, including the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011, the Weights and Measures Act 1972, the Trade Descriptions Act 2011, the Consumer Protection Act 1999, and the Supply Control Act 1961.

He added, the most common violations involved the mislabelling of prices on goods and service charges, mispricing of controlled goods, and the use of weighing and measuring instruments that had expired or were not calibrated.

“As of March 26,2025, the Ministry had received 1,451 complaints from the public. Selangor recorded the highest number of complaints, with 402, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 281 and Johor with 122.

“The majority of the complaints (905) related to pricing issues, followed by supply-related complaints (257), discounted sales (156), counterfeit goods (78), weighing and measuring instruments (37), and halal certification (18), he said, in statement issued by the ministry today.

KPDN reminds all traders to comply with the regulations set by the government, particularly throughout Ramadan and in the run-up to Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
