THE family of a woman assaulted by a man in Seremban on March 29 has vowed to continue pursuing legal action after the victim reportedly suffered a broken rib during the incident.
The incident, which occurred on Jalan Persiaran Senawang, involved the victim, a female driver of a Perodua Axia, being punched by a man, who is said to be a member of the Army.
The details of the attack were shared by a TikTok user, identified as Syfhusnaaa, who expressed her disappointment with the man's actions.
Syfhusnaaa questioned the man's impulsive decision to physically assault her sister, which led to the broken rib. She also criticised his subsequent attempts to avoid responsibility by asking for the case to be dropped.
"When my sister stood firm, his wife came to beg her to drop the case, saying that they should pity him because he has children to look after and no job. But what about my sister?
"She has two children of her own—one in kindergarten and another in primary school. She’s a single mother with no husband. Who’s going to take care of her children?" Syfhusnaaa said.
The family also expressed frustration over the lack of an apology from the man’s family, especially after the victim sought medical treatment. Syfhusnaaa revealed that the man only attempted to apologise once he was arrested.
"After his hands were cuffed, he was begging and even kneeling, wanting to kiss my sister's feet. Why didn’t he apologise when she was at the hospital after the treatment? He said he couldn’t approach her because there were too many people around. But the truth is, if the public hadn't intervened, would he have continued assaulting my sister?" she questioned.
She went on to criticise the man’s role as a uniformed officer, highlighting the responsibility he had to protect the public rather than harm them. "It’s frustrating to even say more, but as someone in a position to serve and protect, you should not treat the public like your enemies," Syfhusnaaa added.
In a final statement, she confirmed that despite the man’s apologies, her family would not withdraw the case.
"No matter how much he begs, my sister will not retract the case. She was humiliated in front of the public, and she has injuries to her stomach and head, not to mention the damage to her car door," Syfhusnaaa concluded.
The family remains committed to seeking justice for the assault, emphasising that no amount of remorse will change their decision to pursue the case. – April 1, 2025
