THE gas pipeline fire in Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor, was completely extinguished by 3:45 pm today, confirmed Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

In a post shared on Facebook, Amirudin revealed that as of 5 pm, 305 individuals had been rescued and relocated to safety.

These victims were moved to Temporary Evacuation Centres (PPS) as well as medical facilities, including Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Sunway Medical Centre, Serdang Hospital, and Putrajaya Hospital.

“The safety of the residents is our top priority. The two residential areas, within a 290-metre radius of the incident, will remain closed and designated as prohibited zones until thorough checks ensure it is safe for residents to return home,” Amirudin stated.

The Menteri Besar further assured that the Selangor State Government would collaborate closely with the Federal Government to manage the situation and protect the welfare of those affected.

Earlier, at 4:20 pm, Amirudin visited the scene, where he met with Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan and Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad, the Director-General of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department.

At 3:40 pm, reports indicated that 190 houses, 148 cars, and 11 motorcycles had been damaged in the fire. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, though the cause of the fire is still under investigation. – April 1, 2025
