A SENIOR police officer with the rank of Superintendent has been arrested to assist in an investigation into the procurement of the Command & Control, Communication & Computer Integration (C4i) system maintenance contract worth approximately RM15 million.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) conducted searches at the individual's office and residence in Semenyih, Selangor, according to Harian Metro, which cited sources.
"The searches were conducted to uncover any documents related to the receipt of bribes from contractors," the source said.
So far, RM7.6 million in bank accounts have been frozen, and 15 witness statements have been recorded, the source added.
The suspect’s remand application was submitted at the Putrajaya Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Earlier reports indicated that the director of a company, its chief financial officer (CFO), and two police officers were among six individuals arrested in connection with fraudulent claims linked to the C4i procurement.
The overall value of the C4i project is estimated to be around RM70 million, which was awarded to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN). - April 27, 2025
