POLICE in Jempol are calling for witnesses to come forward following a fatal motorcycle accident involving a 21-year-old Bangladeshi national who collided with a cow at Kilometre 25 of Jalan Bahau–Kemayan on 25 May.

The victim sustained severe head injuries in the crash and succumbed to his injuries after receiving treatment for seven days at Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Najihah, Kuala Pilah.

Jempol District Police Chief, Superintendent Norhisham Mustapar, said the incident occurred at approximately 8pm as the victim was travelling from Kemayan towards Bahau on a Honda Wave motorcycle.

“Upon reaching the location, the rider is believed to have struck a cow that was crossing the road, causing him to lose control and veer off to the right-hand roadside in the opposite direction,” he said in a statement on Monday.

The victim was rushed to hospital with serious head trauma and remained under medical care until he was pronounced dead at around 11.25pm on Sunday.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

“Anyone who witnessed the accident is urged to contact Investigating Officer, Inspector Muhammad Fasha Haiqal Mohd Faisal, at 016-3627746 to assist with the investigation,” said Norhisham. - June 2, 2025
