THE Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has lodged a police report concerning a suspicious package delivery, which was addressed using the name of the Commission’s Chairman.

According to preliminary checks with the courier service involved, the sender had registered under a pseudonym and specific phone number since June 2025.

The same sender has reportedly been the subject of 55 complaints to date, including 18 cases involving unsolicited deliveries and 37 incidents of incomplete or failed deliveries.

The courier has been instructed to withhold the package in question for further investigation by the police.

“MCMC views any form of suspicious deliveries that could pose a threat with utmost seriousness, and will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities to safeguard public safety and uphold institutional integrity,” the Commission said in a statement.

The MCMC also advised the public to exercise caution when receiving packages from unknown sources or for which no order has been placed. “In the event of doubt, the public is urged to immediately contact the authorities or the courier service for further verification,” it added. - August 22, 2025
