AS emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud computing continue to reshape the digital landscape, Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening national cybersecurity through a unified and forward-looking approach.
This was the central theme of the 2nd National Cybersecurity Committee (Jawatankuasa Keselamatan Siber Negara, JKSN) Meeting for 2025, chaired yesterday by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The meeting addressed key national priorities, including the protection of critical infrastructure, enhanced public awareness, and deeper cooperation between government agencies, the private sector, and international bodies.
It also highlighted the Government’s emphasis on personal data security through the nationwide implementation of MyDigital ID.
“The collective capability to secure our digital environment must be advanced in tandem with technological progress,” the meeting concluded.
Among other issues raised was Malaysia’s intention to accede to the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime during the upcoming meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The Committee also discussed the development of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), academic researchers, and industry players.
These initiatives are seen as essential to reinforcing national cyber resilience, protecting critical digital infrastructure, and safeguarding the security and well-being of citizens and the nation. - August 22, 2025
