THE Ministry of Communications has launched the AI Grand Prix 2025, a high-level conference bringing together leading voices in academia, industry, media and policy to chart the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the nation's digital leadership and communications landscape.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil participated in a special “Let’s Talk” session alongside Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Chief Executive Officer of Capital A Berhad. Moderated by Astro AWANI’s Hafidah Samat, the session focused on how digital leadership and technology are reshaping the business ecosystem and inspiring future generations.

The event features 14 distinguished speakers sharing their expertise, including Director-General of Broadcasting Malaysia, Datuk Suhaimi Sulaiman; Managing Director of NETSEC, Dato’ Shafik Rizaal Saaban; acclaimed film director, Dato’ Zulkifli M. Osman; Aikon Lab founder, Amrulqays Maarof; and Adeel Farhan from Google Singapore.

The conference also introduces a virtual segment titled “AiFluencer”, offering a platform for emerging voices such as Muhammad Haniff Musa (Vokab AI) and Amrulqays Maarof to share their journeys in developing home-grown AI technologies.

Complementing the discussions is a creative technology exhibition involving over 10 organisations, including the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), Lekir Tech, Aikon Lab, Vokab AI, Warong AI, Red Circle Studio, Sahabat Edubot and the Malaysian Creative AI Association (PEKA).

The conference, held at the Dewan Cendekiawan, Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting and Information Institute (IPPTAR), was officially opened today by Fahmi under the theme “Driving Intelligence, Future Leadership”.

Organised by the Ministry of Communications through IPPTAR, the two-day event aims to position AI as a transformative force in public communication, creative industries and national development.

The AI Grand Prix 2025 underscores the MADANI Government’s commitment to advancing human capital, strengthening the creative and broadcasting sectors, and supporting the nation’s digital transformation agenda. Also present was IPPTAR Director, Encik Roslan Ariffin. - Sept 2, 2025
