AEROTRAIN services at Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) were disrupted this evening due to a temporary power outage, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has confirmed
The incident occurred at approximately 8.30pm, affecting both aerotrains in operation. In a statement issued tonight, MAHB said immediate passenger assistance procedures were activated, and airport response teams were deployed to aid those on board the affected train en route to the terminal.
Service for one of the aerotrains was restored at 9.27pm and has since resumed operations, while repair works on the second train are ongoing.
“In the meantime, immediate alternative transport arrangements were put in place to ensure the smooth movement of passengers between the main terminal and the satellite building,” MAHB stated.
The airport operator added that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the cause of the power outage.
“We regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience and understanding of all passengers during the recovery process,” the statement read. - October 16, 2025
