POLICE will apply for an extension of the remand of controversial director and singer, Wee Meng Chee or better known as Namewee, 42, to assist in the death investigation of a Taiwanese female influencer at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur last month.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, when contacted by Harian Metro, confirmed that the remand of the individual involved will be extended tomorrow.

Earlier, Namewee was remanded for six days until November 10 (tomorrow) to assist in the investigation into the incident.

It was earlier reported that Namewee appeared at the Dang Wangi IPD to assist in the investigation into the death of the influencer last month.

Namewee, who posted a status on Facebook, said that he had just arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Johor Bahru.

According to him, he she had come to the Dang Wangi IPD to file a police report and give a statement.

Earlier, police confirmed that a thorough investigation into the death of the 31-year-old influencer was being conducted from various angles, including the possibility of arresting Namewee.

This was because the singer was the last person to be with the victim at the time of the incident.
