PARTI Warisan has promised to construct a comprehensive railway network connecting major towns across Sabah as part of its development agenda for the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election.

Party president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the initiative forms part of Warisan’s broader manifesto to improve basic infrastructure, create employment opportunities, and establish new industries tailored to the state’s five designated zones.

“Each zone will have different industrial and developmental priorities, including education hubs, tourism, power plants, agriculture, and aquaculture,” he said during the manifesto launch in Kota Kinabalu on Sunday evening.

Mohd Shafie also announced plans to build two dams in Kinabatangan and Lahad Datu, alongside an international port and a railway linking Kudat, Sipitang, Keningau, Tawau, and Sandakan.

The party’s manifesto further includes community-focused initiatives such as free fish cage programs and swiftlet house projects, aimed at supporting local livelihoods and boosting regional economic growth.

These proposals form a central pillar of Warisan’s campaign strategy as it seeks to appeal to voters across Sabah through a combination of infrastructure development and targeted socio-economic programmes. - November 24, 2025
