PARTI Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy secretary-general Aidi Amin Yazid has called on all political stakeholders to embrace a constructive and solution-driven mindset as Malaysia continues its ongoing reform agenda under the Unity Government.

In a statement, Aidi stressed that the responsibility of leading the nation cannot rest solely on the Prime Minister, but must be collectively shouldered by the Cabinet and government administration.

“The duty of a Prime Minister is to ensure the country remains on the right track and to make executive decisions he believes are most optimal.

“Collective responsibility within the Cabinet must also be considered, rather than placing the country’s burdens on one individual alone,” he said.

Aidi added that it would be difficult for Malaysians to progress if criticisms continue to be voiced without recognising improvements taking place simultaneously.

“The government has never been defensive, but any criticism must also be followed by openness from all parties to acknowledge legacy issues that have been successfully addressed,” he noted.

He highlighted the rationalisation of fuel subsidies, as well as the reinvestment of savings into increased Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) and Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) allocations as part of efforts to ease public financial pressure.

According to Aidi, Malaysia is now close to eradicating extreme poverty, with only 0.09 percent remaining — a figure the government aims to resolve by the first quarter of 2026.

He argued that these achievements were made possible due to the political stability under the Madani government, contrasting it with previous administrations that struggled to maintain cohesion.

“It would be ignorant for any politician to trivialise the efforts undertaken by our Prime Minister throughout his three-year tenure. It may not yet be perfect, but with more positive collaboration we can strive toward perfection,” he stated. – December 9, 2025
