POLICE are Kuala Langat are  investigating an alarming incident in which a vehicle travelling on the West Coast Expressway (WCE) sustained damage after a stone was hurled from a bridge at kilometre 8.3 southbound, near Seri Cheeding Bridge, early the morning before last.

Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi, stated that the incident is believed to have occurred at around 3.30 a.m.

“The stone thrown from the bridge caused damage to the vehicle involved; however, fortunately, there were no injuries to the motorist,” he said in a statement issued today.

He added that a formal report had been lodged requesting that police increase patrols in the area to safeguard highway users.

Following the incident, the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters has opened a case under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which covers acts causing mischief to property.

Police are actively seeking the individuals responsible and have urged the public not to speculate, warning that unverified claims could compromise the ongoing investigation.
