Private company lodges report against Chegubard for alleged inaccurate and slanderous statements

A PRIVATE company has lodged a police report against Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, over a posting on his Facebook and also statements allegedly made on Episode 44 of his podcast "Khabarnya".

In the report lodged in Shah Alam, which was made available to the media, Arus Juta Sdn Bhd claimed that Chegubard had spread false and slanderous information, revealed confidential documents and information which could jeopardise the company and also threaten national security.

The company claimed that on Jan 13, 2026, at about 10 am, Chegubard had made a posting #OpsHiroshima which contained allegations that Arus Juta was involved in an illegal tender process, manipulation of documents and claims that the products offered did not exist and were not according to specifications.

"The individual concerned also made inaccurate and slanderous statements in his podcast," read the report.

Arus Juta claimed that some of the documents and information contained sensitive technical details involving national defence assets.

"This sort of information and documents should not be in the hands of a civilian," read the report.

The company claimed that Chegubard's actions were likely offences under the Sedition Act 1948, Defamation Act 1957, Official Secrets Act 1972, Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and the Penal Code.

The company in its report, urged the police to conduct a detailed investigation and also identify the source of the confidential documents.

It claimed that the report was lodged to safeguard the company's interest, reputation and national security.  – January 15, 2026
