A 54-YEAR-OLD father has been condemned to a staggering 165 years in prison and ordered to undergo 210 strokes of the cane after admitting to rape of his two biological daughters.

The Sessions Court in Lahad Datu delivered the landmark sentence on Wednesday following a harrowing disclosure of decade long abuse.

Presiding Judge Suhaila Selag handed down the judgment after the defendant entered a guilty plea to eleven distinct charges.

The court stipulated that the fifteen-year prison term for each count would run consecutively, ensuring the defendant remains incarcerated for the remainder of his natural life alongside ten lashes of the whip per charge.

The scale of the depravity came to light on March 22 when the two survivors, now aged twenty-five and twenty-two, sought refuge at the Tawau Police Station to file a formal report.

Investigations revealed a grim pattern of exploitation dating back to when the daughters were just fifteen and eighteen years old respectively.

Daily Express reported today, Lahad Datu Deputy District Police Chief Superintendent Jimmy Panyau confirmed that the assaults occurred across multiple locations spanning Lahad Datu and Tawau.

The victims were subjected to prolonged abuse and coerced into sexual acts through the persistent threat of physical violence should they attempt to resist.

Prosecuted under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, the defendant faced five charges related to his eldest daughter and six involving his younger child.

Authorities noted a further charge involving a third woman was also part of the proceedings. Under the current statute, each conviction carries a maximum penalty of thirty years and ten strokes of the cane.

Superintendent Panyau emphasized the gravity of the case in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the victims had been victims of abuse since they were aged fifteen and eighteen and were forced to perform sexual acts under threats of violence if they refused. - April 9, 2026
