KUALA LUMPUR – Perikatan Nasional information chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has denied throwing his support for Parti Warisan Sabah, following the resurfacing of months-old videos of him campaigning for the former ally-turned-foe.
Calling the recent spread of the videos "irresponsible", Azmin said his speech in the videos was made during the Kimanis by-election in January, which was made to support Warisan and Pakatan Harapan while he was part of the coalition.
While allegiances have changed, he said the spread of the speech several hours before Sabah’s polling day showed that Warisan is in a “desperate” situation and is attempting to gain his support.
“I invite all voters in Sabah to provide strong and unwavering support for candidates of Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional and Parti Bersatu Sabah tomorrow," he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page today.
Azmin said he had explored the entire Sabah state, including rural areas during the campaign trail.
“In uniting the people of Sabah, I feel that the support of the rakyat towards Perikatan Nasional and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah is strong and solid in seeking change (of state governments) tomorrow.” – The Vibes, September 25, 2020
