A MAN suffered injuries to his thigh and leg, believed to have been attacked by a crocodile in an incident on the banks of Sungai Linggi, Kampung Tanjung Agas, Port Dickson, early this morning.

It is understood that in the incident at about 5 am, the victim, Jaafa Hasan, 62, who is the Secretary of the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK), suffered serious injuries to both legs and thighs.

According to local fishermen, the incident went viral in the local fishermen's WhatsApp group since this morning, and it is understood that at the time of the incident, the victim was on the riverbank casting his net.

"It is possible that the victim did not notice the crocodile, and it attacked him. The victim is believed to have managed to struggle with the reptile and managed to escape.

"The victim was later rushed to the hospital by paramedics and is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries," said locals.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the Negeri Sembilan Wildlife and National Parks Protection Department (Perhilitan) is investigating the incident. – May 25, 2026
