THE armed forces paid tribute to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, during a ceremonial parade and procession of the Royal Colours held in conjunction with His Majesty's Official Birthday celebrations.
The event, staged at Dataran Pahlawan Negara, showcased military tradition and national pride as personnel from across the Malaysian Armed Forces gathered for one of the most significant ceremonial occasions on the national calendar.
Bernama cited today that Sultan Ibrahim arrived at 8.45am and was welcomed with the national anthem, Negaraku, followed by a 21-gun salute conducted by the 41st Royal Artillery Regiment (Ceremonial Battery) under the command of Major Hafizan Mat Ghani.
His Majesty then inspected a guard of honour comprising 25 officers and 510 personnel drawn from the army, navy and air force, reflecting the combined strength and unity of Malaysia's armed services.
The parade was led by Lieutenant Colonel Azlan Shah Baharom, Commanding Officer of the Fifth Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment.
Despite light rain and temperatures of approximately 26 degrees Celsius, proceedings continued smoothly, with military personnel maintaining ceremonial precision throughout the event.
Adding to the pageantry was a combined performance by the Malaysian Armed Forces Central Band under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Muhamad Nor Azizan Yahya, which performed a selection of patriotic compositions as the parade unfolded.
Following the royal inspection, the ceremony moved to its most symbolic segment as the combined military band opened the parade ground for the formal procession of five Yang di-Pertuan Agong Colours.
The colours were escorted with full military honours, highlighting their significance as enduring symbols of loyalty, service and the constitutional role of the monarchy within Malaysia's system of government.
The ceremony formed a central part of the Official Birthday celebrations for Sultan Ibrahim and underscored the close relationship between the Malaysian Armed Forces and the institution of the monarchy, a tradition that remains deeply embedded in the nation's military heritage.
