POLICE are tracking down the driver of a Perodua Aruz suspected of assaulting a Ferrari driver during a confrontation on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) near Nilai on Saturday.
Nilai district police chief Superintendent Johari Yahya said police received a report on the incident at 6.40pm on Saturday from one of the drivers involved.
He said initial investigations found that the incident occurred at about 11am at Kilometre 276 of the PLUS Highway, heading towards Seremban.
“The incident is believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding over driving between two local men in their 30s.
“In the incident, the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, causing him to fall, and uttered words containing criminal threats against the victim.
“The incident was subsequently broken up by members of the public,” he said in a recent statement.
Johari said police had identified the suspect and the vehicle involved, and efforts were under way to locate the suspect.
“The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 506 of the Penal Code.
“Members of the public with any information related to the incident are urged to assist the investigation by contacting the Nilai district police headquarters operations room or any nearby police station,” he said.
He also advised the public against making any speculation that could interfere with the police investigation.
Earlier, a video that went viral on social media showed a Ferrari and a Perodua Aruz stopped in the far-right lane of the highway.
The footage also showed two individuals, believed to be the drivers of the respective vehicles, grappling and exchanging blows before one of them fell to the ground.
The altercation was subsequently broken up by members of the public. - August 9, 2026
