THREE men have been arrested over the alleged assault and threats against a woman in connection with illegal parking fee collection near the OUG Community Hall in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said police received a report at 2.38pm from a 38-year-old local woman who alleged that she was confronted by the suspects while at the location.
He said one of the suspects allegedly hurled abusive remarks at the complainant before punching her on the head.
“The complainant was also threatened with being assaulted, while the suspect allegedly threatened to cause trouble at her workplace,” he said in a statement today.
Fadil said police subsequently arrested three local men aged between 20 and 26.
Checks found that all three suspects had previous criminal records, he said.
The first suspect has been remanded for three days until Aug 18, while the other two have been remanded for one day to assist investigations under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 323 for voluntarily causing hurt.
Fadil said Kuala Lumpur police would continue enforcing the law to safeguard public safety and maintain public order.
The incident was previously highlighted on TikTok by Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, who uploaded footage purportedly showing the assault.
