THE International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM) has clarified that Dr Solehah Yaacob is no longer serving as an academic at the university, following the termination of her service on April 27.
In a statement on Sunday, UIAM’s Office of Communications, Advocacy and Promotion (OCAP) said Solehah was no longer allowed to use any title, position or official affiliation associated with the university.
This includes identifying herself as a professor or representing UIAM in any capacity.
The university said the restriction also applies to media reports, publications, advertisements, promotional material and social media content that link Solehah to UIAM, whether directly or indirectly.
The clarification comes after Solehah attracted public attention over several controversial views, including those concerning Malay history and civilisation.
UIAM said it issued the statement to ensure there was no misunderstanding over Solehah’s current status and her relationship with the university.
“The university hopes this clarification on her service status and official affiliation will avoid confusion among members of the public,” it said. – August 23, 2026
