AS both PKR and Parti Bersama appeal to the same voter demographic, several KEADILAN members believe it would be best for the parties to cooperate.
They said working together would give both Pakatan Harapan and Bersama a better chance at winning seats and defeating Barisan Nasional, which was now working with Perikatan Nasional.
"During the Johor state election, we lost some seats by narrow margins which could have been avoided if we worked with Bersama.
"This same scenario of split votes is going to unfold in other elections with so many political parties now in the fray," said KEADILAN insiders.
They claimed that many KEADILAN members feel the party has lost its direction, especially after tasting federal power and has drifted from what it initially fought and stood for.
"Many of us feel the party is bending backwards too much just to keep Umno happy and to retain federal power.
"This is causing ripples among the members, and many are prepared to leave for Bersama.
"It is time for the leaders to open their eyes and realise that Umno will backstab us at any time and join hands with anyone to regain power," said a KEADILAN branch chief.
He said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is close to 80-years-old and there is no clear succession plan for the party.
"We lost Rafizi (Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli), and recently Izzah (Nurul Izzah Anwar) also took leave from her position as deputy president.
"There is a serious problem in the party, and unless those concerned acknowledge this, we are heading towards a crisis," he said.
Another KEADILAN branch leader shared the same sentiments that it would be best for Pakatan Harapan to cooperate with Bersama for their political survival.
"The issue here is mainly the Malay voters. Umno clearly saw this, and that is why they became 'pals' with PAS.
"I have personally heard from my friends that many in Umno are not happy working with PAS, but are left with no choice since they want to win over Malay voters.
"It is clear that PAS now commands the majority of Malay voters and that is the only reason Umno has joined hands with them," he said.
He said it would be a matter of time before the bubble bursts and Umno once again reveals its true colours.
"Things between Umno and PAS may appear rosy for now, but don't be fooled.
"Umno is a wolf in sheep's clothing and will never change," he said.
Other KEADILAN members who spoke to The Vibes also believe that it would be best for the party to hold discussions with Bersama and form a stronger alliance.
"DAP may have lost some ground to the Chinese voters, but there is still time to regain this.
"With Bersama on our side, we can put all differences aside and work together to defeat a common enemy.
"If Umno comes back to power, history is going to repeat itself, and the people are once again going to end up the biggest losers," they cautioned. - August 25, 2026
