THE proposal to conduct a forensic audit to identify the mastermind behind Felda's nearly RM10 billion loss will be brought to the next Cabinet meeting.

This was confirmed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when met by reporters after the National Maulidur Rasul 1448T/2026 Celebration at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang today.

"We are bringing the forensic audit to the Cabinet," he said briefly.

It was earlier reported that a forensic audit needs to be conducted to identify the mastermind behind Felda's nearly RM10 billion loss.

This will allow action to be taken if there are elements of abuse of power, breach of trust or maladministration.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi called for a forensic audit of Felda, saying any suspected abuse of power, breach of trust or governance failures must be thoroughly investigated.

Last Friday, Anwar said he would await the full report of the Special Task Force investigating issues surrounding Felda’s management before making an official announcement.

He said the task force had begun its work and its findings were expected to be presented soon before being made public, similar to the recent Royal Commission of Inquiry report on Lembaga Tabung Haji. – August 25, 2026
